There is always a problem in finding the right codec package. With AVI Codec Pack, this problem seems to be solved. With this package, you can play almost any major audio and video format such as DivX, XviD, OGG, and many more.
There are three different ways of installing the codec pack. The first one is 'Minimal' and it installs DivX 5.11, DivX 5.02 DirectShow, DivX audio, and AC3 filter (you can play only the DivX files). The second one is 'Recommended' and it includes Xvid, MPEG4, OGG DirectShow, and MPEG Layer 3. Finally, the last is 'Full'. This includes ffdshow, DivX 3.11 and 4.12, and MPEG Layer 2 (it is not recommended because you will get conflicts between the codecs).
Pluses: It has all the needed codecs to view the most recent video formats
Drawbacks / flaws: I could not use the package fully installed.
In conclusion: Good codec package for viewing video files. Don't compare it with ACE Mega Codecs. This one isn't a professional codec pack.
